Women Who Money Contributor Guidelines
Writing Guidelines
General
- Write in a conversational tone
- In the leveled informational content, avoid personal stories and 1st person voice.
- Use examples and anecdotes to clarify your points
- Content should be fresh and not previously published
- Your post must not violate any copyright laws
A submitted post must:
- Be carefully edited and proofread by you – try using Grammarly
- Have a captivating title – in the form of a question. (Our website is all about answering money questions that people ask! Think about a question that someone would search online as a guide.)
- The introduction should create interest so the reader wants to read further
- Use headings, subheadings, bold font for key material and bulleted or numbered lists so it is easy to read, follow, and understand
- We prefer posts between 1000 – 1800 words, although we will consider shorter posts that are about specific concepts
- Include pertinent images, screenshots, graphs, charts as attachments – and designate placement. We will choose pictures for the post that align with our site theme.
- Have an author bio at the end (roughly 40-50 words). You can link to your blog and one of your own articles in your bio. Please send us the links and we will add them. Also, include your Twitter handle and one other social media link.
- Your headshot or icon (if you blog anonymously)
Please do not:
- Use any font color
- Include affiliate links in your submission. Your own linked article at the end of the post may include affiliate links, however.
Please don’t be upset if we recommend or make some changes–we want your post to be successful. We may edit the article for greater clarity, grammar, punctuation, etc., however, we expect you to edit your document before submission.
Note: We retain the copyright of all material submitted and published on Women Who Money. A contributor cannot republish their article elsewhere; it must remain unique to WwM.
Please email your completed article (including your bio, social media/website links, and headshot) to editor[at]womenwhomoney[dot]com with ‘WmW Content Submission‘ in the subject line.
Once the post is formatted and scheduled for publication we’ll send you your publication date and URL via email.
We look forward to your contribution!
**We currently do not pay for contributed articles. We do offer a byline, listing on our site directory, and your bio and headshot on our contributors' page.**
